Over the past five years, we’ve faced challenges and opportunities together, from rebuilding after Hurricane Helene to strengthening our parks, supporting small businesses, and making Fletcher a place where families can thrive.</h3>When I first ran for office, I promised to lead with transparency, accountability, and a commitment to working families. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, but I know there’s more to do. Fletcher is growing, and we must continue to invest in safe neighborhoods, resilient infrastructure, and opportunities that benefit everyone in our community.That’s why I’m running for reelection. Listed are the things that we have accomplished over the years!<ul><li>Greenway Expansion<ul><li>Secured major grant funding to expand the Cane Creek Greenway system:<ul><li>$100,000 from the Connecting Communities to State Trails Program</li><li>$293,441 from the Great Trails State Program</li></ul></li></ul></li><li>Parks and Recreation<ul><li>Completed a new multi-court project at Bill Moore Park, adding pickleball, basketball, and tennis courts.</li><li>Repaired and improved Bill Moore Park following Hurricane Helene.</li><li>Farmers Market</li></ul>Town Center Project<ul><li>Continued progress toward developing a Town Center in Fletcher.</li><li>Demolished aging structures</li><li>Sidewalks and lightpoles</li><li>Engineering firm developed several scenarios based on environmental review and analysis on fill requirements</li><li>Updated marketing materials</li><li>Project momentum has been slowed due to NCDOT delays, but planning and preparation are ongoing.</li></ul></li><li>Support for Town Staff<ul><li>Implemented paid family leave (FMLA) for Town employees.</li><li>Conducted a comprehensive pay and classification study that increased salaries across all departments, including administration, police, public works, parks and recreation, and planning.</li></ul><ul><li>Increased pay for Town Staff. Hurricane Helene left a lasting mark on Fletcher and the rest of WNC. Families were displaced, businesses hurt, and infrastructure tested. Relief and recovery reamin top priorities, not only in repairing what we lost but in building more resilient. I am committed to advocating for Fletcher to receive resources at the state and federal level. Plus, supporting our neighbors who are still recovering

Hurricane Helene Relief

We have worked on this for a long time. We are not giving up. I am committed to working with County Commissioners and other stakeholders to push this forward. A new library would provide resources for families, students, and seniors alike. Libraries are community hubs and this vision has been shared by our neighbors alike.

Fletcher residents deserve a cental place to eat, shop, and spend time in town. We have lacked a downtown space that reflects our community for too long. We have made incredible progress in improving downtown Fletcher. Old structures have been demolished, sidewalks and street lamps throughout, and a wonderful clocktower. Finishing this project will strengthen our town and invest in the future.

The Cane Creek Greenway system is a treasure for our community. Providing connection, recreation, and strengthening our sense of community. We have already received significant grants to expand the greenway. However, there is much more work to be done. With the secured funding we must plan and build. Therefore every resident can enjoy!

Local government only works when the community is invovoled. That is why I have prioritized accessibility and meaningful opportunities for residents to be heard. I believe our strength comes from active engagement with all residents. Decisions must reflect the values and needs of every neighbor.
